Privacy Policy

Mack Mortgages is the personal brand of Mack Chaisson, a licensed mortgage broker in British Columbia with DLC / Clear Trust Mortgages. This policy explains what personal information I collect through mackmortgages.ca, how I use it, and how I protect it. I handle personal information in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
What I collect
- Contact details you give me, such as your name, email and phone number, when you use a free tool, download the homebuyer guide or book a call.
- Details you enter into the free tools, such as a property address, mortgage balance, rate or purchase price.
- Client portal information, if you are a client: your login details and the documents you upload (for example ID, pay stubs, employment letters, tax documents and bank statements), plus the mortgage details I record for you.
- Website usage data collected through cookies and the Meta Pixel on public pages, such as pages visited and the device and browser used.
How I use it
- To answer your questions, prepare mortgage options and arrange your mortgage.
- To send you the results or guide you asked for, and follow-up emails you can unsubscribe from at any time.
- To collect, review and keep the documents needed for your mortgage application, as required by lenders and by anti-money-laundering rules.
- To remind you before your mortgage renewal date.
- To measure and improve my advertising on Meta (Facebook and Instagram).
I do not sell your personal information.
Who I share it with
- Lenders and insurers you choose to apply with, and my brokerage (DLC / Clear Trust Mortgages) for compliance, only with your consent as part of your application.
- Service providers that help me run this website and my business: Netlify (website hosting), Google (Drive document storage and Gmail), Mailchimp (email), Notion (lead records), Calendly (booking), Anthropic (AI used to generate results in some free tools) and Meta (advertising measurement). Some of these providers store data outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to local laws.
- Anyone else only where the law requires it.
The secure client portal
Documents uploaded through the client portal travel over an encrypted connection and are stored in my private Google Drive. Only I can open them. Portal accounts are protected by a password and a one-time code emailed at every login. Portal pages do not use the Meta Pixel or any analytics.
How long I keep it
I keep client files, including uploaded documents, for as long as I need them to serve you and for as long as brokerage, lender and anti-money-laundering rules require, which is at least seven years after your mortgage closes. Lead information is kept until you ask me to remove it or it is no longer needed.
Your choices and rights
- You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any email.
- You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal information, subject to records I am legally required to keep.
- You can control cookies through your browser settings, and ad preferences through your Meta account settings.
Google data
The client portal connects to my own Google account to save your uploaded documents to my Google Drive and to send portal emails from my Gmail. This connection is only used for those purposes. Its use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
